Prithviraj in Simhasanam

ShajiKailas is back in Varikkassery Mana near Ottapalam shooting hisnew movie titled SIMHASANAM. Shaji has a deep emotional bond with the Mana as two of his superhits, ARAM THAMBURAN and NARASIMHAM were shot in the same location. So he started work on SIMHASANAM with Prithviraj as hero, on the same day THE KING AND THE COMMISSIONER was released. The first scene was shot in the family temple with Prithviraj, Saikumar and Vandana, all dressed in typical village style. The story centers around the Chandragiri family whose head Madhava Menon is liked by all in the village. His only son Arjun is a student in Manipal. Father and son are closely attached to each other and this is highlighted throughout the movie. As Madhava Menon’s popularity rises and spreads to other parts, so does the number of enemies whofeel that he is stealing the limelight from them. Things reach a pass where Arjun had to be summoned from Manipal to clear up the atmosphere and restore order. Madhava Menon and Arjun are portrayed by Saikumar and Prithviraj. Vandana is in the role of Lachu, staying with the Chandragiri family and loved by allas a daughter enjoying special privileges and authority. SIMHASANAM is a highly sentimental family entertainer having all the elements to becomea success. Aishwarya Devan is in the lead role as heroine. Other artists are Thilakan, Janardhanan, Siddique, Devan,Maniyanpilla Raju, Vijaykumar, Biju Pappan, Kunjan and P.Sreekumar. Screenplay is by Shaji Kailas. Camera: Vishnunarayanan, Editing: Don Max, Arts Director: Boban, Make-up: Rajesh Nenmara,Costume: Suresh Fitwell, Production Controller: Sethu Adoor, Production Executive: Prabhakaran Executive. Ottapalam,Cochin and Hyderabad are the locations selected and the shooting is in progress.
