Trivandrum to get a new filmcity; Alapuzha gets a new theatre complex.
Kerala State Film Development Corporation held its first meeting at Trivandrum . The main agenda for the meeting was aimed at further improving the Malayalam film industry. The film city will be bulid near the chitranjali film studio, 70 acres of land will be utilised for the same. The project is a joint venture from the part of the government as well as from the KSFDC.
“This project will be a futuristic model and will strengthen our industry”,Sabu Cherian[chairman KSFDC] told the press. The other important aspect is to build a theatre complex in Alapuzha,which will be modelled on Saritha, Savitha, Sangeetha theatres. The third project on the list is to give a face-lift to Kalbhavan theatre in Trivandrum and make it available for future releases. The meeting was attended by KFDC M D Sajeev Kumar Padjoshy,vice chairman Idavela Babu and other prominent members of the film fraternity K Madhu, Devaraj, Baiju, Captain Raju and Maniyan Pillai Raju
