Rules must be rules even if the person in question is an actor. Dulquer Salmaan the upcoming star of Malayalam film industry penalized for violating traffic rule. He was attending the audio launch of his latest flick "Neelakasham Pachakadal Chuvanna Bhoomi" directed by Sameer Thahir. This road movie has Bullet in animportant role so as a mode of promotion the main actors Dulquer and Sunny Wayne had a ride around Kaloor Stadium yesterday at Ernakulam.

The important thing is the main witnesses for this helmetless ride were the Kerala Police and the actor was asked to pay the penalty for violating traffic rules. The function was conducted at IMA hall Kaloor and before that the film team organised a Bullet ride at the nearest ground and toawe the crowd Dulquer and team joinedthem. Recently Asif Ali was also bookedby the Police for following the police escort for a minister too closely.

7 Crores for doing the Title of Saibaba :: Record Remuneration for Dileep

whose popularity in Malayalam cinema is eclipsed only by Mohanlal andMammootty, is creating history of sort by acting in a non-Malayalam film, namely “Sai Baba”, a big-budget film in Telugu.

Dileep has been offered a fabulous sum of seven crore rupees for acting in “Sai Baba”. This is believed to be the largest sum ever received by a Mollywood star for acting in a Telugu cinema. For a change, Dileep is shifting a gear and acting in a spiritual role, far removed from his usual light and humorous roles in Malayalam films which brought him fame and popularity.

Dileep will enact the life of Sai Baba from the age of 20 to 85. This is the firsttime that he is acting in a film from outside Kerala which makes his compensation all the more incredulous.The film in Telugu will be dubbed into other languages later. “Sai Baba” is being directed by Kodi Ramakrishnan and it is expected that the movie will becompleted in three months.

Singam 2 :: Tamil Movie Review (Updated)-First Show Review.

The film start with slow pace, little lagging on the first few minutes, but after some minutes in first half the filmentered into the deep. There is not much things special in the first half, butsome regular Surya showoff and some nice events. Totally a average first half.

But when the scenes has changed in the second half, the film entered the full pace in the second half Surya's energetic performance make electrify throughout the theater. No special twists and surprise after the smooth moving second half film end with an ordinary climax. Totally the movie wouldn't disappoint you, but the over hype may not give you full satisfaction - an average flick. The songs done by Devi Sri Prasad contribute positive to the movie, all of the songs are good. The Comedy scenes and some good scene makes the movie one time watchable even there is some unwanted scenes make little lag.

Verdict :: One Time Watchable

Singam IIis an upcoming Tamil action- masala filmdirected by Hariand produced by S. Lakshman Kumar for his newly formed Prince Pictures. Director Priyadarsan has confirmed that Shobhana who won a national award for portraying the role of Ganga in 'Manichithrathaazhu' will make an one screen appearance in its sequence made in the title 'Geethanjali'.

Mohanlal - Vijay Combo In "JIlla"

The Tamil-Malayalam bilingual film Jilla is produced by R. B. Choudary under thebanner Super Good Films, who producedthe super-hit malayalam movie KeerthiChakra starring Mohanlal in the lead role.
The film will be simultaneously shot in Tamil and Malayalam. The shooting of this ~80 crore budget film is expected tostart in April 2013.

Music will be handled by D. Imman and cinematography by Natarajan Subramaniam whose previous works includes Black Friday (2004), Parineeta (2005), Eklavya (2007), Jab We Met (2007), Love Aaj Kal etc. We will be seeing Kajal-Vijay pair in the film for the second time after the blockbuster movie ‘Thuppakki’.

Work on Lal Jose directed movie ‘ Emmanuel ’ with Mammootty in the lead role will hit in theatres. Artists for other roles are being identified.

Lokpal :: Malayalam Movie Review

Mohanlal as Nandagopal runs Nandoos Foodcourt , known for its excellent cuisine, and people flock in great numbers to dine and taste the delicacies cooked and served by Nandu. But unknown to others, Nandagopal, besides being a chef, has another facet to his character.

He runs a secret tirade against smugglers and tax evaders and the different ways he adopts to fight the culprits form the highlights of the movie. The hapless victims are leftdazed and powerless, as they have no way to account for the money stolen from them.

Kavya Madhavan is a doctor who used to be close to Nandagopal. But that did not prevent Nandu from making a foray into his ex-girl-friend’s house either. His methodsof robbing and his intentions form the crux of the story in “Lokpal’.

Mohanlal, appearing in different forms at different places, makes acting look so effortless with his dazzling array of talent. However, there is a sense of déjà vu in that he has been seen in such roles many times in the past and he hasnot been given any challenging tasks by the director. Kavya Madhavan, petite and pretty as ever, does her role reasonably well but Meera Nandan appears here and there without much to do. Manoj .K.Jayan too is rather lethargic and does not reach any level of intensity. Saikumar and Shammi Thilakan were impressive.

Others in the cast carry out their tasks without too many hassles. S.N.Swamy’s script is dramatic andthrilling but it could have provided more substance to the characters. Director Joshiy has given his best to bring some credibility to the proceedings.

Dialogues are ineffective and do not create the impact intended. Pradeep Nair’s camera work is watchable and the lens mops up plenty of close-ups and cutaways.

Ratheesh Vega’s music has not emulated the success of the hot favourite “Aattumanal Payayil" heard in “Run Babby Run”. With a bit more passion from its makers, “Lokpal” could have gonethe whole distance ;....

Verdict ::Good entertainer but Average in Script

Jayasurya to play the lead in Saji Surendran's movie yet again. Their association goes a long wayback. Of the six movies that Saji has directed five of them features Jayasurya. Their last movie together was the multi starrer, 'Husbands in Goa'. As of yet untitled movie will have screenplay by Krishna Poojappura.
The rest of the cast has still not been finalized for this family entertainer. Another movie titled 'Sweet Heart' is also on the anvil. The movie has been planned for later this year. 'Sweet Heart' will have Anoop Menon along with Jayasurya in the lead. The combination is expected to work well asit always has. The duo is currently busywith 'Hotel California'.

The movie is an adaptation of Vaikom Muhammed Basheer's short story by the same title, which narrates the love story of Majeedand Suhra.

Viswaroopam :: Excellent responses from Kerala

In a surprise turn of events, Kamal Haasan's Vishwaroopam gets rocking response in Kerala. The film was release in more than 230 screens acrossthe state.
Interestingly, Kerala consist of 25 percent Muslims and as per reports the film is running packed houses in the Malabar region, which is dominated by Mualims. Kamal's home production Rajkamal Films International has released the movie directly in Kerala.
Kerala Film Exhibitor's Federation (KFEF), which haddeclined to exhibit the movie following Kamal's decision to premier Vishwaroopam on DTH format, is also screening the film.

New face Aparna Gopinath is the heroine. Vijayaraghavan, Nandu, Lalu Alex, P Sreekumar, and new face Tovino Thomas are seen in important roles. Jomon T John is in charge of photography and Gopi Sunder tunes music for the lines of Rafeeq Ahmed and Santhosh Varma.

Kammath & Kammath ::: Malayalam movie review

Kammath and Kammath , an action comedy, directed by Thomson K Thomas and starring Mammootty along withDileep, Karthika Nair, Rima Kallingal among others, seems to be yet another disappointment in the cap of the superstar - Mammootty.

Having promoted Kammath & Kammath as a mass entertainer,the film's script lets you down completely as it seems half baked without a strong plot. While the first half is bearable, the second half is painstakingly slow. However, it would be wrong to say that the film doesn't have any fun element init. Those who are expecting some action packed element will not be disappointed. While Baburaj does a lot of action sequences, our 'ikka' is seen relaxing on top of the car in most scenes! Dance performances by Mammoootty ikka, Dileep, Rima and Karthika is very good.

The film would have surely been a failure if not for MazhavilManorama, who have paid a whooping Rs 4.95 crore (US$0.9 million) for the satellite rights.

Story

Kammath and Kammath narrates the story of Kammath Family, who speaks Malayalam with a Kongini Slang as they have migrated to Kochi from Goa during Portuguese invasion. The plot revolves around Kammath brothers and things that happen after the inauguration of a restaurant in Palakkad. Mammootty plays the role of the big brother Raja RajaKammath, while Dileep plays therole of Deva Raja Kammath.
Rima Kallingal portrays the character of Palakkad municipalcommissioner while Karthika is her sister. Baburaj is seen as a loyal assistant of the Kammath family. The Kammaths relation with the sisters and the problems that follow forms the main storyline.

Performances

Dileep steels the show with his excellent comic timings, natural expressions and perfect dialogue delivery. Baburaj is yet another treat to watch as he gives good support to Dileep in terms of comic timing and dialogues. Rima Kallingal has got a decent role and has done a good job and so has Karthika.Mammootty is good as usual, but fails to deliver a powerful performance. Dhanush is in a cameo role and is seen dream walking through the scenes!

Biju Menon- Kavya madhavan team in Aashique abu's next

Kavya Madhavan and Biju Menon will play the lead roles in Aashiq Abu's next venture. This is the first time that the director is working with these established and popular stars of Malayalam film industry. Much speculation and curiosity surrounds this movie from Ashiqu Abu, who is known for his unique and off-beat narratives. The film will be one among the short 40 minute expositions in Amal Neerad's cinematic compilation, 'Anju Sundarikal'. Ashique Abu has commented about the film in a social networking site, "The film is about five beautiful women- mother, daughter, lover, wife, andactress. I'm doing the actress featurette with Kavya Madhavan and Biju Menon in the lead". The onus will be on Kavya Madhavan, who will essay the role of an actress. Already, the shoot of Samir Thahir's featurette with Nivin Pauly and Isha Sharvani in the lead has been completed. Other directors in the fray includes Anwar Rasheed, Shyju Khalid and Amal himself. 'Anju Sundarikal' is scheduled to hit the screens by May.

ANNAYUM RASOOLUM ::: Review

Annayum Rasoolum , directed byRajeev Ravi and starring FahadhFazil, Andrea Jeremiah, Aashiq Abu and Sunny Wayne among others, is undoubtedly one of the best films to release in recent times in Malayalam cinema. Realistic, refreshingly heart warming and a simple love story narrated in the most fantastic manner is how we candescribe Annayum Rasoolum .
The story as such is not a novel plot, but it is the narration and the treatment which needs a standing ovation. Regular day-to-day events and happenings are encapsuled in abeautiful way making the entireexperience very enjoyable and memorable. The accent, dialogue delivery and the lifestyle is very typical of people living in 'Kochi.'
Cinematographer Madhu Neelakantan briiliantly captures the scenic beauty. Music by Krishna Kumar too is top class. The only 'minus' if it can be called so is the length of the film. Running up to 3 hours, Annayum Rasoolum would havebenefited with a little bit of firmediting. However, you don't complain much since it's a storythat you can easily relate to.
Excellent performance by the entire star cast only adds to the beauty of the film. A few romantic sequences between the two lead - Fahadh and Andrea is adorable though theydon't exchange too many dialogues. The best part of Rajeev Ravi's direction is that the narration never becomes melodramatic.

Story
Rasool (Fahadh Fazil) is a taxi driver who has been living in Mattancherry for years. He has abrother named Haider (Ashiq Abu), who works at a local ferry. Their father lives in Ponnanni with his second wife. Anna Josephina (Andrea Jeremiah) is a sales girl in a famous company in Ernakulam. They slowly become attached toeach other since they both are frank and honest. However, situation becomes ugly once it comes to light that Rasool and Anna's brother are having a feud and are in very bad terms.

Performances
The entire star cast of AnnayumRasoolum have given an outstanding performance. Fahadh Fazil seems to be maturing with each film and he is brilliant, and so is Andrea. Their expressions and body language speak volumes about what they (characters) feel for each other and the situation that they are in.

Verdict
Annayum Rasoolum is a must watch! You are sure to come out feeling refreshed and content.

Romans :: Malayalam movie Review

'Romans' mixes every known genre into its cinematic cauldron, to churn out a heady cocktail. There is romance, comedy, suspense, action, horror etc. The film easily stradles all these diverse areas. Throughout the entire film, the comic elements have been sustained. This liberal coating of humour is the film's USP. With the hit duo, Kunchacko Boban and Biju Menon providing the laughs, 'Romans' does deliver what is expected of it.

The suspense-horror part adds to the thrill. 'Romans' centres around the escapades of two thieves played by Biju Menon and Kunchako Boban. The duo escapes from the train in which they are being transported to a jail. They end up in a village along the Kerala- Tamil Nadu border. There they trick the innocent villagers into thinking that they are priests ordained from Rome.

The "Romans" have the time of their lives there.

The audience are taken for a joyride through their comic capers and antics. The warm soupthey are in thickens with unseen forces making its presence felt. During all this, the comedy does not flag. The suprise revelations and the unfolding of the mystry forms the rest of the plot.

'Romans' perfectly articulates Biju Menon's comic timing and underscores his ability to performa comic character solidly. His pithyand spontaneous statements are a treat. Kunchacko Boban, introduced as a romantic hero, has given a commendable performance. Niveda Thomas whose role in the movie is a forgettable one, has done what is required of her. Nelson has performed well creating many unforgettable comic situations in the first half. Others like Lalu Alex, Vijayaraghavan, Kochu Preman, T.G.Ravi has done well.

Boban Samuel, the film's director has given the viewers a fairly decent fare. Script and dialogue by Y. V. Rajesh is upbeat and plugs most of the loopholes. The Kodaikanal locale, the old church and the thriller part have all been deftly captured on screen.

Verdict :: Entertainer
