Mamta Mohandas and Padmapriya will do the lead roles in the film which will start its shooting from the first week of December. At first, Kaniha, who has become the favourite of Malayalee audience was to do the lead role, but later Padmapriya and Mamtha won the lot for the Siddique film.
Now he is getting ready to direct a suspense thriller with Prithviraj in the lead. Jithu himself will be writing the screenplay of the film. Jithu says that he likes to direct films of other screenplay writers and that half of the job is done if a good screenplay has been written. He is also planning to take an action film after the Prithvi movie. His new film "My Boss" where Dileep is the the hero, is running in the theaters successfully.

'Emmanual' is a person who works under a book publisher. His future becomes a question mark when the company closes down unexpectedly one day.
The film tells the story of the life of Emmanual, and the hardships he encounters while trying to make both ends meet in-order to take care of his family.
The screenplay is done by Vijeesh.A.C. It is after a long break that, Lal Jose is directing a film with Mammootty as the hero. Lal Jose's first film was "Oru Maravathoor Kanavu", in which Mammootty was the hero of the movie. Later, Lal Jose directed film like 'Pattalam' in the year 2003 with Mammootty.
Now after 25 years, when the same star is facing another similar debacle with his films, a sequel to this big hit is on the pipeline. To be directed by Jayanan Vincent, the cinematographer of the original, the movie will once again bringing to life the character of G K, who is last seen to be arrested for the revenge and killings of a number of key personals for the popularity of his newly found Newspaper.
This will be Jayanan Vincent's first venture as a director.
The original movie which was thefirst Mollywood film to gross more than 1 crores from the release centres, was scripted by Dennis Joseph and directed by Joshiy.

'Theevram' by Roopesh Peethambaran is as the title suggests, an extremely intense movie. The first half creates a suspicious mood with an auto driver, Raghavan always followinga woman, Nimmy. Events lead to the disappearance of the auto driver. It is shown that he is kidnapped by Harshvardhan, Dulquer.
The part before interval is layered with half said words and hidden clues that heightens the suspense.
Dulquer is presented to the audience as fitting star, evoking applause. The kidnap is investigated by Alexander Kurien(Sreenivasan) and his assistant, Ramachandran. Sreenivasan comes across as an intelligent police officer who hides behind a mask of timidity and slothfulness. The second half explains the reason for the kidnap and the murder through aflashback. The flashback presents Maya, (Shikha Nair) as Dulquer's lover. The hidden conspiracy of the first part comes to light.
The film questions judiciary and justice. The wounded heart becomes the centre of the plot. There is raw feel to the movie with lots of flesh and blood shown.
The performance of the cast varied according to the scope andlength of the character. Dulquer, Vishnu Raghav, Vinay Forrt and Sreenivasan gave commendable performances. The music by Roby Abraham produced nothing muchto write about. Cinematography was more or less mediocore. There were three surprise guest appearances too that was the highlight of the second part.
VERDICT - BELOW AVERAGE

The film sustains the comedy almost throughout, except for thelast half an hour, when predictably the pair turns all gooey and romantic. Sai kumar asDileep's father and Seetha as his mother have important parts in the movie. Others like Kalabhavan Shajon, Valsala Menon, and MasterJeevan support the lead pair. The entire cast has given good performances. Of course Dileep stands out. Mamta too does a decent part, though one feels the perfection has not been sustainedthroughout.
"My Boss" tells a simple story which is pumped up with humour and absolute mirth. The director, Jeethu Joseph, definitely succeeds in making the audience holler (laugh out loud). Unless anduntil you think with your brain, the balloon stays inflated, floating lazily and happily high up in the azure sky with a smiling sun and white fluff clouds.
This feel-good movie has music by Sejo John andM. Jayachandran, which sometimes seem an intrusion in the middle of a volatile rendering of comedy. A sense of impatience grips, especially as the song 'enthinennariyilla enginennariyilla'by East Coast Vijayan plays, when the tone of the movie changes. Camera work by Anil Nair is commendable.
It has to be said that My Boss is definitely a remake of the English RomCom The Proposal by Anne Fletcher starring Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds.
The plot has been retained and only the comic situation has been changed to suite the Malayalee sensibility. But then, it is the comedy that grips the viewers rather than the plot.
VERDICT - PURE ENTERTAINER

You find yourself in a fix truly, when you see a bunch of youngsters in 'Cinema Company' dissecting a film that they have just seen, and expressing their displeasure at what they have been through for the last couple of hours. An odd two hours later in the cinema hall, you find yourself in exactly the same predicament, and with your hammer and tongs all set down, you settle down to take a closer look at what 'Cinema Company' is all about.
'Cinema Company' is all about four youngsters Panicker (Sanjeev), Paulachan (Basil), Fazal (Badri) and Paru (Shruthi) who have become thick friends, as thick as the Thick Rap, ever since they came across each other at the International Film Festival of Kerala. They share a love for films, and are called the 'Cinema Company' by all and sundry. Well, almost. I kinda really liked the build up of this film, and was surprised to see that the story suggests that whatever Fazal has been scripting comes true in real. It brings to mind the film that Paru has been talking about initially; the second half of which lost steam, and it comes to real in 'Cinema Company' as well! The resurrection of the film within the film is what carries 'Cinema Company' forward in the latter half, and it gets increasingly unconvincing with every passing moment. Everything falls into place eventually, and the film does get made. But the dramatics that precede the climax are absolutely out of place. Sometimes it so happens that a cinema that tries to be as 'uncinematic' as possible eventually does give in to the pressures that build up from all around. The superstar Rajeev Krishna (Nithin) being coerced to offer support to 'Cinema Company'' yet again is one such occasion that stands out like a real sore thumb. That the sequence itself turns out to be watch worthy thanks to Nithin's fine performance is another matter altogether. Which brings me to the impressive young blood that has been cast in the film. Basil, as is suggested in the film, does have the looks of a hero, and is bound to go a far way. I loved the performances of Sanjeev, Badri, Shruthi, Lakshmi, Sanam, Swasika and Shibla as well. 'Cinema Company' goes on to prove that there is so much of talent that lies unexplored in Malayalam cinema. Alphones' musical score, barring a Thick Rap that didn't appeal to my sensibilities, is impressive. Jibu Jacob's frames ensure that the film looks stunning on screen. If there is one thing that 'Cinema Company' has served, it's simply that it makes me want to wait for Mamas' next film. Having moved ahead by leaps and bounds since his debut film 'Paappi Appacha', the script might have failed him this time around, but this is a film maker who's bound to bounce back for more. And the next time, I'm sure, it's only gonna get better. |
Devadevan, son of actor Vijayaraghavan and Pinki, daughter of Ponnamma Babu act in the main roles. Captain Raju again appears as Pavanai in the movie. Ganesh Kumar, Ramu, Bhiman Raghu, Guinness Pakru, Tony, Kunjan, Antony, Rajasahib, Biju Ezhupunna, Roy Manapillil, Bombayji, Johny, Ajith, Arun Devasya, Kaviyoor Ponnamma, Suvida, Kavithasree, Ponnamma Babu, Ani and Devanjana are all part of the cast.
Camera: Dilip Rajan, Music composition: Vayalar Sarathchandra Varma, PV Abraham, Harish Nair, Music: Somasekharan Nair,Pradeep Pallurithi.
The film is produced by PV Abraham under the banner of Pullampallil Films International. Screenplay and dialogue by Rupakand Nishak.
Screenplay is by the Sanjay-Bobby team and the shooting will start on July 11th at Shoranur. Prithviraj and Narain, who acted together in Lal Jose directed 揅lass Mates, will come together again in 揂yalum Njanum Thammil alongwith a plethora of well-known stars. Ramya Nambeesan, Samvritha Sunil and Rima Kallingalare the three heroines joined by Prathap Pothan who made a strong come back with his performance in Female Kottayam.
Salim Kumar, Kalabhavan Mani and Prem Prakshare also appearing in important roles.
揂yalum Njanum Thammil is a candid and honest story of a committed senior doctor and an irresponsible junior doctor and through their relationship, a picture of the medical profession id drawn vividly. Prathap Pothan portrays the doctor who, by his absolute devotion to his profession, lives a lonely life and Prithwi appears as the junior doctor.
The movie is being made by actor and producer Prem Prakash under the banner of Prakash Movie Tone. Sanjay and Bobby of the Sanjay-Bobby team are his sons and Bobby is a doctor.
Vineeth himself has grown through the same schools and colleges and would have seen so many such incidents to flare his imagination. Love goes back a generation when a glance or a gesture spoke louder than all those silly banter and conveyed volumes of message. The romance between Vinod(Nivin Pauly) and Aisha (Isha) is delightfully engaging and credit should go to the young actors for their absolute commitment and dedication towards the characterization of the pair.
Nivin Pauly as the small town college boy acts and looks fine in his role. Isha Talwar looks bewitching and angelic as the Muslim girl and is able to be convincing. At times though, she looks a bit confused.
Aju Varghese, Bhagath Manuel , Ahmed Siddique, Sunny Wayne, Manikuttan , Sreenivasan have performed creditably in their respective roles. Manoj K. Jayan's performance is notable.
Cinematography by Jomon T John is exceptionally good. Ranjan Abraham edits brilliantly and Shaan Rahman抯 music and background score is so melodious and so wonderfully applied that the aura and flavor ofromance are enhanced.
Thattathin Marayathu is a beautiful romantic film which brings back memories of days gone by for the 憂ot so young and lessons to the young on 慼ow it used to be. A movie with excellent first half and average second half. But sure, it doesn't disappoints you. The movie is simple and moving with a very clear theme and substance.
Verdict: 'Thattathin Marayathu' is an Excellent love story.
“Though the story has nothing to do with the historical figure of the Divan of Travancore, the character of Kunchacko Boban in the movie possesses the same willpower and shrewdness as that ofSir CP and hence the title for the movie”, says director Suresh Babu, who also writes the screenplay for the film.
Other actors for the movie are being decided. Bold, courageous, popular and reminding of the supremely arrogant Sir C P Ramaswamy Iyer, people called him Sir CP. Screenplay for “Sir CP” is written by S.Suresh Babu.
Ranjith Lal directs “Sir CP” which has Kunchacko Boban playing the role of Sir CP.
Along with Chackochan, Sheela and Jayabharathi appear in important roles. Sheela and Jayabharathi are acting together in one film after a very long gap but details about their roles have not been revealed.
Anjali who shot into fame with ‘Angaditheru’, says that finally she agreed to act in the comparativelysafer kissing scene.
Anjali added that having worked in films like ‘Angaditheru’ and ‘Engeyum Eppothum’, and having earned a good name, she did not want to be known as a sexy actress by acting in bedroom scenes and exposing herself.
In ‘Settai’, Anjali appears in the kissing scene along with Arya. ‘Settai’ is a Tamil remake of the Hindi original ‘Delhi Belly’, which was a tremendous box office hit.
‘Delhi Belly’ had extended kissing scenes and sizzling bedroom actions and attracted huge crowds. Other performers in ‘Settai’ include Hansika Mottwani, Premgi Amaran and Santhanam inimportant roles.
Kareem (Thilakan) has been managing Ustad Hotel for the last thirty five years and his grandson Faisi(Dulquer Salmaan) is always there along with Karim, knowing him, understanding him and loving him.
The meaning of Ustad is friend and friendship is highlighted in every aspect of Ustad, both in letter and spirit. Situated near the Calicut Beach, people flock to the hotel for the wonderful cuisine prepared and served by the twosome. The food is wholesomeand satisfying and the customers include locals and outsiders. And Faisi vibes perfectly with his grandfather’s ideas and attitude. This deep bond between grandfather and his grandson forms the crux from which the story is woven.
Anwar Rasheed, who has already directed super hits like ‘Rajamanikyam’, ‘Chotta Mumbai’ and ‘Annan Thambi’, directs ‘Ustad Hotel’. Listin Stephen, maker of another hit film ‘Traffic’, produces ‘Ustad Hotel’ under the banner of Magic Frames. Dulquar Salman is Faisi and Thilakan is Karim, the two building a bridge between two generationa just as in the movie. And to complete the dazzling list, ‘Manjadikuru’ fame Anjali Menon writes the screenplay.
To add lustre and romance, NithyaMenon appears as Shahna who is in love with Faisi. Others in the cast are Siddique, Lena, Kunjan, Mamukoya, Bhagath and Prem Prakash. The film tells the story of ordinary people in ordinary surroundings living ordinary lives. It contains humour, love, pain and above all human values. It is a film one could relate to, where you find simple people doing heroic things, not with their fists but with their minds and emotions.
All the actors have performed out of this world with the youthful and glamorous Dulquer proving once again that he is coming out of his father’s shadow in the role of Faisi. Thilakan proves that thereis no substitute for experience with a subtle yet poignant performance. Nithya Menon is a revelation and will be a hot contender. Bhagath creates a niche for himself and the same could be said of Siddique, Mamukoya, Manian Pilla Raju, Kalabhavan Haneef and Lena, all ofthem at ease in their roles.
Anjali Menon has run riot with thecharacters giving them a free reinto grow and in the process she could be forgiven if occasionally the plot suffers. The rest of the film crew like cinematographer(S.Lokanathan), editor(Praveen Prabhakar), art director(Biju Chandran), costume designer(Sameera Saneesh) and the choreographer (Shanker) have managed to keep abreast with the tempo and spirit of the movie. Gopi Sunder’s music injectsmore life to the already colourful movie.
‘Ustad Hotel’ is a moving film, the story well written by an extremelygifted artist, the film directed by a young and genuine talent and Anwar has definitely won the firstround effortlessly. Hats off the whole team for a splendid show!
‘Ustad Hotel’ is refreshing, captivating and engrossing.
Verdict: Good.

Performance: In Sakuni , Karthi steals the show with his wonderful performance. He has taken whole responsibility of running the show on his shoulder. Pranitha has no much scope except to shake legs with thehero.
Santhanam tickles the funny bones of audiences. Prakash Raj, Kota Srinivasa Rao, Roja, Radhika, Anushka, Andrea, Kiran Rathod have also done justice to their respective roles.
Technical: PH Muttaiah's cinematography is bright andaverage, while Srikar Prasad'sediting is very dull.
GV Prakash Kumar's music is below the par and none of the songs are impressive andfoot-tapping. Even the background score is very dulland the poor re-recording fails to elevate the scenes.
The director has chosen an excellent storyline with political backdrop, but has failed to narrate it properly. All the scenes are bits and pieces as he has chosen a novel way to narrate in the form of flashbacks. The entirefilm looks very dull due to unimpressive screenplay. He has also failed to tap the energies of Prakash Raj, Kota Srinivasa Rao, Nazar, Radhika and Karthi. Roja's character iswasted. All the dialogues in the film had the Tamil scent and lacked local touch.
The production values of Bellamkonda are good. The entire first half of the film is devoted to narration of silly points in the form of flashbacks. Second half takes fast pace for some time, but the director lose grip on the subject again.
Remarks: Watch the film if you are a hardcore fan of Karthi. Otherwise, you can wait for the DVD as the film isnot that exciting and interesting to watch by goingto the theatre. The commercial success of the film depends on how could Karthi pulls audiences to the theatre.
Cast: Karthi, Pranitha, Prakash Raj, Chandramohan, Kota Srinivasa Rao, Santhanam, Nazar, Radhika, Roja, Kiran Rathod and others.
Credits: Cinematography - PH Muttaiah; Editing - Srikar Prasad; Music - GV Prakash Kumar; Presenter - Bellamkonda Suresh; Producer - Gnanavel Raja; Story, screenplay and direction - Shankar Dayal.
